John, also known as “FIG” in the gymnastics world, was the Associate Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at Missouri University for 5 years and previously, the assistant coach at Denver University for 7 years. During his time at Missouri and Denver, he helped bring both teams to Nationals for the first time in each school’s history. Prior to his 12 years of coaching college gymnastics, John owned and operated Kentwood Gymnastics USA in Kentwood Michigan from 1992-1999. Six of his gymnasts earned level 10 National Championship titles (all around and events) from 1994-1999. John coached several international athletes as a USAG National Staff Member. For his efforts on the international scene, John was named the USA Gymnastics Region 5 Coach of the Year in 1994 and 1999. He left college in 2012 and moved to Long Island NY to be with his current wife where they managed five Successful gyms until they moved to Florida to start their own team and Leotard company.
